On Tuesday, a bunch of golf's biggest headliners were out on the course and at the range.
John Daly, Stuart Appleby, Tom Watson, Rory Sabbatini, Kenny Perry and took to the Old White.
Then there was Tiger on the loose...And this afternoon...
Tiger Woods made his first trip ever to the West Virginia.
His freshman roommate at Stanford was a West Virginian, but Tiger had never been here himself and the newness makes all this kind of cool.
"It's exciting to go to other places in the world that I have never been," Woods said. "I've traveled all around the world but I've never been to West Virginia. This is new to me, this is exciting. I've been fortunate to have gone to a lot of states and a lot of countries in my 17 years out here and this is new so, it's not too many times you can say that's new in the U.S., but this is new for me."
Tiger is looking forward to the Classic and he says one reason the field is getting better and better Is the timing of this tournament.
"I wanted to play in it last year cause it fit in my schedule but I was hurt and I didn't play anything last summer, so that was disappointing but this year again it worked out perfectly," Woods added. "It's close to D.C., a lot of guys are driving here from D.C. On top of that we get a week off after this to get ready for the British. Some guys may go over there to play a week before, at least we have the option and I think that's one reason the field is so strong here."
This tournament has grown every year and this field is obviously an elite one with the likes of Tiger, Phil and Daly. And in talking to the pro's, The Greenbrier Classic is becoming one of the can't miss tournaments on tour.
"Obviously the word has gotten out about how great this event is and you know the changes they made to the course, so I think the field will just get stronger and stronger as the tournament grows," 2008 Masters Champ Trevor Immelman said.
"It's huge. Tiger is huge and Phil both are huge draws," 2010 Classic Runner-Up Jeff Overton added. "You know anytime those guys show up it seems like people all over the world watch the tournament. It just brings so much more attraction to the Greenbrier and it will become more of a global destination than just a little kind of Midwestern or east coast destination."
The weather has wreaked havoc in White Sulphur Springs lately. It was another hot day in the 90's, very humid and for the second time in the last week, strong thunderstorms moved in, halting the first practice round.
There is more rain in the forecast for the rest of the week, but that shouldn't bother John Daly.
He just returned from the Irish Open where it rained the whole time.
Daly played well, finishing at 8-under-par, so he's looking forward to this week... come rain or shine.
"I'm getting better in the wind and the rain that's for sure because that's all I saw for eight straight days," Daly said. "It was tough but I played pretty good. Got kind of the bad draw last week and I did some good with it so a few more putts here and there maybe some good things can happen."
On Wednesday, the final Pro-Am is scheduled along with one final practice round before the tournament tees off Thursday morning.
