CHARLESTON, WV (AP) -

Those hitting the road for the July 4 holiday have some good news.

Gas prices around the state continued to fall last week, according to AAA. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $3.37, which is down 8.7 cents for the previous week.

West Virginia's pump prices are nearly a nickel higher than the U.S. average, but they're more than 20 cents lower than a year ago, according to AAA.

Across the state, gas prices range from a low of $3.26 a gallon in Clarksburg to a high of nearly $3.50 a gallon in Martinsburg, AAA reported.
