A strong warning is going out to people across the area that may want to celebrate the Fourth of July with their own fireworks.
Fire experts said Tuesday that since we're already in drought conditions and storms have created more challenges for local fire and emergency teams, the general public should refrain from using fireworks.
Water is also in short supply in many areas, which would make it nearly impossible to fight a fire that could quickly get out of control.
Fire Marshals in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky are urging people to not set off their own fireworks this year. Some public fireworks displays are also being canceled due to fears of fire danger.
