American Red Cross bringing more help to WV

The American Red Cross is currently providing help to West Virginians affected by the storms. Over 80 volunteers and staff were brought to the state to supplement those that were already in place.

The Red Cross announced that 26 Emergency Response Vehicles (ERV) will soon arrive in the state. Each vehicle is designed to carry 1,000 prepared meals and drinks to large disaster areas. The locations of the ERV's will be announced.

The Red Cross has five shelters opened and ten that they are providing support across West Virginia:

  • First Church of God, 114 HARVEY STREET, FAYETTEVILLE, WV 25840 (Fayette County)

  • Gilmer County Recreation Center, 136 Sycamore Run Road, GLENVILLE, WV 26351
  • Kanawha City Community Center, 3511 Venable Ave, CHARLESTON, WV 25304 (Kanawha County)
