Veterans volunteer to work Old White on Independence Day

Posted: Updated:

It is the Fourth of July at America's Resort and one way The Greenbrier Classic is celebrating America's birthday is by putting American flags as the pin flags.  Plus, they're allowing veterans to work on the course and pull the pins.

One of the veterans pulling the pin on the 18th hole is Sgt. J.T. Price, of the West Virginia Army National Guard.  After Tiger Woods' round during the Pro Am, the golfing great signed the American flag and handed it to Price.  It was something Price said he never expected.

"It was awesome. It was a great experience," said Price.  "It was my first PGA Tour event ever, I've never been to a golf tournament before. This is kind of a big deal. It shows he has patriotism and everything for the country, and for everyone to be here in general, for the Fourth of July."

Price serves as a recruiter in Clarksburg.  All of the troops working The Greenbrier Classic are volunteers.
