The National Weather Service has been working in Charleston since Sunday to offer help analyzing storm patterns.
A meteorologist has been monitoring the region's weather patterns from the state Emergency Operations Center. He starts every morning by discussing upcoming storms with local weather professionals on a conference call.
Then he studies those storm patterns on the Internet. He says he will work in Charleston for as long as he's needed.
"I'd say this is one of the more impactful storms I've had or seen," said Jonathan Wolfe, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service. "Everything I've dealt with is pretty localized in a county or couple of communities. but this is a pretty large storm."
Wolfe said tonight could see another threatening storm.
This weekend looks no more promising, with relief out of sight until Sunday.
