Texas man pleads guilty to transporting illegal aliens

A Pasadena man recently pleaded guilty to transporting nine illegal aliens to South Charleston en route to Maryland, U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin announced July 5.

Daniel Ricardo Gonzalez, 22, admitted he and a known associate transported illegal aliens from Houston to West Virginia, according to the news release.

Gonzalez could face up to five years in prison when he is sentenced Oct. 4.

In a separate but similar matter last week, Miguel Marquez-Jimenez, 25, and Sergio Morales-Jimenez, 20, both of Mexico, pleaded guilty in federal court to transporting illegal aliens from Houston to West Virginia.

On April 5, the news release continued, Marquez-Jimenez and Morales-Jimenez together transported 14 illegal aliens to Putnam County en route to New Jersey.

Marquez-Jimenez and Morales-Jimenez each could face up to five years in prison when they are sentenced Sept. 24.
