The West Virginia Emergency Operations Center activated after last Friday's storm, with no signs of stopping its work—especially considering the National Weather Service predicts more storms this weekend.
The state EOC operates from the basement of the state Capitol. The National Guard, the Department of Agriculture, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, among other organizations, have all helped EOC manage requests for assistance around the state.
"They continue to help with power restoration," said Terrance Lively, a spokesman for the EOC. "They'll continue to work on feeding with those who need it."
Lively said the EOC has sent assistance to every county in West Virginia. As of today, the center distributed more than 1 million liters of water to regions in need. He said the EOC handles every area with "equal importance and priority."
