Generators continue to be a hot commodity during storm recovery

Supplies of generators have been flying off the shelves of local stores just as fast as the stores can order them in the wake of the recent storms.

Riley's Tools in St. Albans received its shipment of around 100 generators Thursday morning.

The variety of generators has been on order for more than a week. They come with a number of power and fueling options.

Store owner Riley Gunnoe said he wants to help his community by keeping prices low and ordering enough to go around.

"We opened Saturday and in an hour or two sold every one we had, and I said oh boy, we need to get these people some more generators," said Gunnoe.

Gunnoe added that people should research the types of generators available, along with their capabilities to determine which model is right for their needs.
