Marshall University is housing 275 utility workers who are helping with the power restoration efforts.
The out-of-state workers were brought by Appalachian Power and are staying in three of Marshall's residence halls. The large number of workers that were brought it filled hotels and motels to capacity and Marshall was contacted to see if they was room available.
The workers will be staying on the Huntington campus Friday and Saturday nights.
Marshall's Huntington campus suffered nearly $95,000 in damage and the South Charleston and Point Pleasant campuses were closed Monday because of power outages.
