Relief stations open today in Kanawha County

According to AEP, there are 33,679 people without power in Kanawha County.

An extreme heat warning has been issued for Kanawha County until 8:00 p.m.

Temperatures could reach 100 degrees with a heat index of 105.  Kanawha County Emergency Officials are encouraging those without power to go to cooling stations and shelters to seek relief from the heat.  Please check on your neighbors and family members who live by themselves.

Ice and water distribution centers will be open in Kanawha County today at the following locations:

Flinn Elementary - Sissonville
Civic Center - Lee Street Entrance
Pinch Elementary
Herbert Hoover High School
Riverside High School
Clendenin Community Center

Two additional ice and water distribution centers opened at noon at:

Ruthlawn Elementary 
East Bank Middle School
