How to seek FEMA assistance following storms

Posted: Updated:

One week ago, President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency for West Virginia.

This allows local government and residents to seek aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Officials are encouraging people to take pictures of any storm damage and to call the Kanawha County Planning Department to receive FEMA assistance.

You can reach them at (304) 357-0570.
