One man dead after taking off in police cruiser - WOWK 13 Charleston, Huntington WV News, Weather, Sports

A man was shot and killed by a state trooper after police say the man stole a police cruiser, initiated a chase, and grabbed an officer's hand gun.

Police say they had the man in custody, then he stole a Bluefield police officer's cruiser.

Police started a chase and then the man got a hold of the officer's handgun.

When the man wouldn't drop the gun, a state trooper then shot and killed him.

There's no word on the suspect's identity.

An investigation is ongoing.
