Kanawha deputies looking for suspect in Rand 7-Eleven robbery

Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who robbed the 7-Eleven in Rand early this morning.

The man is white and in his early 20s and was wearing a white hoodie and dark pants, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Department. He fled on foot with cartons of cigarettes and cash.

The robbery happened at 1:12 a.m. at 5424 Midland Drive, according to the news release. The store clerk reported that the man had loitered in the store's parking lot for hours. He eventually came to the night service window and pointed a gun at the clerk. He demanded cash and cigarettes.

Deputies recovered evidence at the scene that might be related to the robbery, the news release states.
