Winfield Bridge closing for repairs

WINFIELD, West Virginia -

The Winfield Bridge is closing to traffic at night for repairs that are expected to take three weeks.

A spokesperson for the Division of Highways says a few months ago a vehicle hit the bridge causing damage.

The bridge will be closed 6 PM to 6 AM starting Monday night.

The bridge will then re-open next week to traffic during the Putnam County Fair.

After the fair the bridge will close again at night for the next two weeks so the repair work can continue.

The work is expected to be finished August 7th.
