Eighty years after his first visit to The Greenbrier, a Charleston man made a return trip.

Only this time, 95-year-old Russell Henna was escorted by his veterans advocate, Lisa Groves, and WOWK-TV.

Russ, as he likes to be called, first came to The Greenbrier as a member of a Charleston golf caddy team.

He has played golf since he was 11 years old and only recently gave his clubs away to a beginning golfer.

Russ was treated like a VIP the last day of The Greenbrier Classic. He was driven around the golf club in a cart but at times was able to walk a decent distance in the near 100-degree heat.

Russ is a World War II veteran. He started the first golf club at the University of Charleston.

Being at The Greenbrier Sunday has him thinking about trying to play the game again at the age of 95.
