Joyce Pauley and her husband, Elvin, have been roughing it. No power, no water and no hope.
"I understand the storm, I was very patient during the storm," she said. "Yes, I understand. I don't understand now."
Joyce has COPD, a disease that affects her lungs.
Her husband Elvin had a stroke three years ago. But, frankly they've been more concerned about their neighbors.
"I have a neighbor that is currently going through chemo therapy and radiation. I have an elderly neighbor that has broken bones, she has osteoporosis. She lives by herself. We have a gentleman up the road who is a paraplegic," said Joyce
After more than 10 days, Joyce was at the end of her rope.
Right in the middle of our interview with the Pauley's the lights came back on.
"Oh! There it is," she said.
Joyce went from room to room in awe.
"Oh! My lamp is on! My air is running! Look! The ceiling fan is on," Joyce said.
After all of the hardships that the Pauleys have endured, a sense of humor is still evident.
"Well, no I won't get to fix us anything to eat," she said. "We'll have peanut butter. What's one more night?"
Joyce said the first thing she is going to do now is clean her house and stock up her refrigerator.
