CHARLESTON, West Virginia -

The Kanawha County planning commission heard from the public about the plan to make a ribbon of land around the Bayer Crop Science plant part of Nitro.

Several company leaders spoke in favor of it Wednesday night, saying it would lead to more jobs and help the entire area.

Officials with Bayer CropScience issued a statement after Wednesday evening's meeting.
