Arsonist pleads guilty in case that killed firefighter

CHARLESTON, West Virginia -

Charles Roberts, the man accused of lighting a fire that lead to the falling death of Davis Creek-Ruthdale firefighter Joey King pleaded guilty Friday. 

The accident happened along Route 119 in December. King was investigating a fire over a bridge and fell to his death.

Roberts pleaded guilty to one count of 3rd degree arson, one count of 4th degree arson, one count of involuntary manslaughter.

His sentencing has been scheduled for August 28th. 

Roberts faces as many as 6 years in prison.
