Three escape massive fire in a home on Walnut Street in Kanawha County
People are still living in shelters two weeks after the big storm.
After the Kanawha City Recreation Center lost power at the beginning of this week, the people staying there were transferred to the King Center on Donnally Street.
Some people seeking shelter at the site now face big questions about their futures.
William McYoung saw the big storm destroy his home in Cabell County. He's been searching for a place to stay since June 29. He came to the King Center on Thursday. But on Friday he found himself penniless.
"We're at our wits' end," said McYoung, who came to the King Center with his girlfriend and 17-year-old son, Brandon. He added he is not sure where his family will go if the King Center ever closes.
According to a spokeswoman from the governor's office, the Red Cross is doing everything in their ability to make sure these people have a roof over their heads. She stressed these people will not be kicked out on the streets.
She also said the Red Cross will try its best to find housing for one family that was homeless before the storm: Bob Vanderslice spent the day trying to find available apartments. He said all properties were either filled or too expensive.
