The Three River Avian Center created the Birds of Prey program, which has become a featured aspect of West Virginia's state parks and forests.
"Birds of prey such as owls, hawks and eagles are creatures you commonly see in the sky soaring, but rarely up close," said Luke Stevens, summer naturalist at Pipestem Resort State Park.
"The Three Rivers Avian Center provides an educational aspect and the opportunity to see the raptors up close."
Three Rivers Avian Center programs are free of charge to attend.
The program lasts about one hour, followed by a discussion period. The TRAC schedule for the 2012 summer season at state parks and forests includes:

• July 27, Twin Falls State Park, 7 p.m.
