Heritage Farm hosts old-fashioned Ice Cream Social

Posted: Updated:

The Heritage Farm Museum and Village in Cabell County wanted to take people back to a simpler time with their Ice Cream Social.

People got to try ice cream that was made with a hand crank. The owner of the farm remembered making ice cream that way, and wanted to show people how technology has changed.

There were museum tours, tractor rides, and demonstrations of how things were made way back when.

"We hope when they came out and got some ice cream, they got an appreciation of their rich heritage. It's something that they should be proud of and never ashamed of," said Mike Perry, owner of Heritage Farm.

As a part of their Way Back Weekends, there will be an antique car show that will feature engines, tractors, and cars on August 4.
