A Putnam County man was sentenced to four years and three months in federal prison for illegally distributing prescription drugs, according to U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin.

Kevin Caleb Barrett, 23, of Red House, pleaded guilty to distribution oxymorphone in April.

Authorities used a confidential informant to make a controlled purchase of oxymorphone pills from Barrett.

Barrett admitted that he bought $1250 worth of pills and then gave the pills to the informant.
