The water slides at Waves of Fun in Hurricane will be opening up on Wednesday, July 18.
The manager of Waves of Fun, Jamie Wright, made the announcement Monday.
Earlier in the summer the piece of machinery that creates waves at the wave pool at Valley Park in Putnam County broke. After nearly thirty years of use, the main circuit box needed to be replaced. The pool remained open but there just weren't any waves for people to enjoy. That part of the park was repaired in early July, but the slide park was still not operational.
Monday's announcement that the slides will be reopen on Wednesday, July 18, means the entire Waves of Fun park will be functioning for patrons.
