Charleston police officers responded to a report of shots fired on Monday afternoon on the city's west side. The call came in around 2 p.m. according to Kanawha County dispatchers.

The bullets shattered the glass in a car parked in the 900 block of Central Ave.

No one was hurt according to officers at the scene, but the incident adds to the list of recent crimes on Charleston's west side which have residents on edge. A neighbor said Monday afternoon that they're worried about the violence on their block. "It's getting bad over here. It's getting bad. It's just the way it goes around here I guess," said Jerry Warrington.

Police said they didn't have a motive or a suspect on Monday afternoon.

In June, a man was shot five times by a pellet gun on the west side. Earlier in 2012, police investigated a more serious shooting.

The community continues to work with police, government officials, local businesses and churches to combat violence on Charleston's west side.
