No one should be upset because no one picked the correct numbers to win the large Powerball jackpot last night. It didn't stop people from walking up to the lottery outlets to buy a chance at a multi-million

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs will award Kanawha, Cabell, and Wayne Counties with a homeless prevention grant. The Secretary of Veteran Affairs, Eric K. Shinseki, announced that $252,330 will go to the West Virginia counties.
In a press release from the VA Medical Center in Huntington, the grants will serve 110 homeless and at-risk Veteran families as a part of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. The award will serve Veteran families associated with the Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center, Inc. in Charleston. It is one of 151 community agencies in 49 states to receive the grant.
The SSVF program awards grants to organizations that provide services to very low-income Veteran families.
Homeless providers will offer Veterans and their families outreach, case management, assistance in obtaining VA benefits, and assistance in getting other public benefits. The community-based groups can also offer temporary financial assistance for Veterans for rent or utility payments, and other expenses.
