The UBB Memorial granite slabs are being put into place in Boone County.
Six granite slabs totaling more than 11 thousand pounds have silhouettes of the 29 miners who were killed in a mining explosion on April 5th 2010.
On the other side of the slabs is history of coal mines from the area.
Those who were instrumental in getting the memorial completed were pleased to be a part of the process.
The memorial cost a total of a half a million dollars.
The official dedication is happening on Friday the 27th at 2 o'clock.
