A group of fraternity men will cycle through Charleston on Friday as part of a nine-week event that spans the country.
The cyclists are participating in KRG Capital's 25th Journey of Hope to raise money and awareness for people with disabilities.
The organization, Push America, sponsors the Journey of Hope, as part of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity's national philanthropy. The team, which consists of Pi Kappa Phi members from across the nation, will bike an average of 75 miles per day. The trip began in Seattle and will end in Washington, D.C., on August 5. They will cover more than 4,000 miles.
According to a Push America press release, the goal of this year's Journey of Hope is to raise $500,000 for people with disabilities. Push America and Pi Kappa Phi have raised over $15 million so far.
