Construction begins on Charleston's first open-air artisan bazaar today.
East End Bazaar, which is a project of the East End Main Street, is an open-air artisan market that will be located on 1428 Washington St. According to a press release, it will feature an "eclectic mix of functional and collectible art and hand-crafted goods."
East End Main Street is an economic development organization that plans to give local artists a chance to display and sell their work by opening the East End Bazaar.
No official ceremony will take place today, but digging at the site will begin at 1:30 p.m.
