HURRICANE -

It's been a difficult year for the Wave Pool in Hurricane.

For the first time this season the slides opened, and to make matters worse last month the machines that made the waves broke, leaving the Wave Pool waveless.

Pool manager Jamie Wright estimates a $22,000 loss of revenue because of the waves and slides being down.  The wave machine was repaired a few weeks ago and the slides are now ready to be used.

Wright said the Wave Pool is planning a 30th anniversary celebration in the coming weeks to hopefully recoup some of the lost revenues.
