A Putnam County man has been indicted on sexual assault and incest charges.
Michael Crist, 46, of Pliny, was in court Thursday to learn of his indictment. Crist was also charged with sexual abuse, daytime burglary, child abuse and domestic battery.
Court records state Crist had been having sex for three years with a family member starting when the girl was 11 years old. The complaint goes on to say Crist threatened the victim with physical violence and forced her to have sex with him five times on Aug. 4 of last year.
A formal arraignment will be scheduled at a later date. He remains in the Western Regional Jail on a $530,000 bond.
