A plea hearing has been set in federal court for a Lincoln County commissioner.

Thomas Ramey Jr. agreed earlier this month to plead guilty to federal charges that he lied to investigators, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The plea agreement will have language similar to the deals accepted by former Lincoln County Sheriff Jerry Bowman and County Clerk Donald Whitten, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Both of them resigned their offices.

Ramey's plea hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 8.

Ramey remains on the commission, although he did not attend Thursday's regular meeting.
