The 2012 West Virginia Hot Dog Festival is set for July 28 at Pullman Square in Huntington. Clear Channel Radio announced in a press release that the eighth annual festival will showcase hot dog businesses from across the tri-state from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m.
The first event will be the 5K Bun Run/Walk Your Buns Off with the proceeds going to the Cabell Huntington Children's Hospital.
There will be around a dozen hot dog businesses that will offer samples. The 2012 West Virginia Hot Dog Festival will also have live music and entertainment all day. More events include a classic car show, demonstrations, Buns on Bikes family bicycle tour of Huntington, and contests.
One of the fan favorites is the Hot Dog Festival Wiener Dog Race that will be at noon. Many of the competitions include a hot dog eating, root beer chugging contest and a homemade hot dog sauce competition.
