West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin will honor 11 people, families, and businesses during the annual Governor's Service Awards Banquet. According to a press release from the Governor's office, the banquet will be held at the Charleston Civic Center on August 8 as a part of the "Faces of Leadership" state volunteerism conference.
The awards will honor those individuals, families, organizations, or businesses who are dedicated to volunteerism and community service in West Virginia. The Governor's Service Awards have been presented since 1995.
The recipients of the 2012 Governor's Service Awards by category are:
Lifetime Achievement- Ardath Francke, Kanawha County; Ruby Ann Greathouse, Brooke County
Youth- Alexis Browning, Cabell County
Adult- Debra Curry Davis, Wyoming County; Rhonda Monroe, Jefferson County
Senior- Ora Beth Drake, Wood County; Ed Lowe, Mason County
Family- Shaun and Maggie Jedju, Harrison County
Business- Cabell Huntington Hospital, Cabell County; Toyota Motor Manufacturing, West Virginia, Inc., Putnam; West Virginia American Water, Kanawha County
