Officials from the National Weather Service office in Charleston will officially declare three Kentucky Parks as "StormReady®". During a ceremony on August 15 at 10 a.m. at Carter Caves, the weather service will designate Carter Caves, Greenbo Lake State Resort Parks, and Grayson Lake State Park as National Weather Service StormReady® Supporter designations.

According to a press release from the Kentucky Department of Parks, the three locations will be among the first state parks in the nation to earn the StormReady® declaration.

The Weather Service's declaration means that the community is prepared for severe weather according to their guidelines.

The other StormReady® Kentucky State Parks include Dale Hollow State Resort Park, Lake Cumberland State Resort Park, Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, Natural Bridge State Resort Park and Buckhorn State Resort Park.
