While some kids are spending their summers hanging at the pool or at the park, some kids converged on the Capital city to take part in one of the most grueling sports there is.
About 50 of the region's top grapplers engaged in a wild weekend of wrestling. The Golden Cross wrestling camp met at a gym on Summers street. The kids are here to work on their wrestling skills, and hopefully pick up a few pointers that will help them compete when they get back home.
According to the coach kids can benefit from wrestling no matter what their size.
"Wrestling is one of the toughest sports there is and I think Dan Gable said it best: 'If you've wrestled everything else in life is easy,'" said Golden Cross coach Avery Zerkle. "If you have the characteristics to wrestle then you have the same characteristics to do anything else in life and be successful at it."
