Let Don Do It: Helping a barber get his message out

Posted:

A Charleston barber wanted to get his message out about having renewed faith in the youth of American so our Don Hammond said let Don do it.

Barber Mark Anderson said a few weeks ago someone destroyed his expensive barber pole that is attached to the outside of his shop on Pennsylvania Avenue near Bigley.

It was a mystery for about week as to how the pole was smashed to bits. But, recently a young man about 20 years old walked in to his barber shop and in front of an almost packed house explained how he was the one who had broken the barber pole.

Mark said customers' mouths dropped and his did too. He told the young man it took some real guts to come in there and make an announcement like that.

The barber said it was real nice to see a young man admit to his mistake and then offer to make things right.  The young man said he broke the barber pole while playing football.
