The pig played an important part in diabetes research, and Appalachian Power Park will be honoring the humble animal at the 13th Annual Kiss-A-Pig event.
West Virginia Power is co-sponsoring the annual event with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Charleston Gold Dome Lions Club.
Between Tuesday and the "Kiss-Off" on Friday, Aug. 31, volunteers seek votes to become the "champion pig kisser," with each vote being $1. During the West Virginia Power game Aug. 31, the top fundraiser will get to kiss a pig.
