A man arrested and charged with firing a shot in a medical building Tuesday morning.

Jerry Dale Blake, 43, of Huntington, was charged with two counts of wanton endangerment and one count of domestic assault.

Huntington Police said it started at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday when Blake went to Cabell Huntington Hospital's 20th Street Professional Building.

Police said he threatened to shoot his wife and fired one shot into a wall almost hitting her and another person.

Blake then went to his home on Cedar Street in Huntington, according to police.

Police say following a 20-minute standoff with police, Blake came out of the home with a rifle in his hand.

Huntington Police said Blake eventually placed the rifle on the ground and surrendered to police.

"Fortunately we had a seasoned patrol out there who did a fantastic job of talking him out and working with him. They showed great restraint out there," said John Williams, Huntington Police Department.

Blake is being held in Western Regional Jail on a $201,000 cash only bond.
