GRIFFITHSVILLE -
Residents of the mobile home park at Merritts Creek in Lincoln County say a month after the now infamous storm, several of their trailers have not been repaired, so they are withholding rent.
Holes in roofs and damaged siding can be seen on several of the mobile homes outside of Griffithsville.
The landlord, Danny Ross, said he has the supplies ready to go for the repairs, but the harsh weather has slowed the repairs.
"When the storm hit, we didn't have no electric [sic] for ten days," said Ross. "That's the reason it's tarped up. It isn't leaking. You can do the best you can do."
Renters showed us ceilings with dark spots of mildew developing near large hole caused by the storms.
Several renters admit they have not paid rent, but say it is because they spent their money renting other places to stay.
"When the storm happened, everyone spent their money trying to keep their kids safe," said renter Brittany Adkins.
Ross said he is trying to sell the park.
"There are drugs everywhere here," he said.
He painted a sign and put it at the entrance of the park that reads, "Trailer (court) 4 sale. Deadbeats go 4 free"
