Huntington Museum of Art offers tour to taste test food found in their Conservatory

The Huntington Museum of Art offers residents a chance to view different works of art, but another draw to the museum is the Conservatory.

During the Fourth Tuesday Adult Tour, people got to taste test plants and fruit that can be grown inside their Conservatory. On Tuesday, there was different food with ingredients that can be grown there that include pineapples, coffee beans, and a plant called a wax palm. The event was held last year and was a great success because it introduces folks to food that they might not normally see in a grocery store.

"We just wanted to highlight the Conservatory and we've found the tasting tour is an interactive way to do that. Even if you don't know what a papaya plant is, you can taste it and make that connection even if you don't know anything about plants," said Anna Lafferre with the Huntington Museum of Art.

The next Fourth Tuesday Adult tour will take place on Aug. 12 at 7 p.m. and will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of The Walter Gropius Master Artist Series.
