A Lesage man was in court Wednesday, accused of abusing his 2-year old daughter.
Court documents state Laurence Bess has been charged with two counts of child neglect resulting in injury and child abuse resulting in injury.
Officials said deputies were dispatched to Cabell Huntington Hospital for the injured girl.
According to reports, Bess said he was stressed and tired and when his daughter threw a tantrum, and he threw her on the bed.
The little girl bounced off the bed and was injured on a heater, officials said. She was bruised on her face and had a cut on her lip, a fractured ankle and a fractured eye socket.
Bests' court date was continued for two weeks due to paperwork.
He is in the Western Regional Jail on $80,000 bond.
