No one should be upset because no one picked the correct numbers to win the large Powerball jackpot last night. It didn't stop people from walking up to the lottery outlets to buy a chance at a multi-million

Tom Hatcher, the mayor of War, was a good man who wanted the best for his town.
Tragically, police say he was killed for drug money by members of his own family.
Hatcher came back to McDowell County to make things better – he worked hard and was a great advocate for his city.
His death is just one more tragic example that our state is being crippled by drug abuse.
Let's hope his memory can finally inspire us and our elected leaders to face down this problem and make meaningful, lasting change.
