A free program about intellectual property and patent protection in the health care and life sciences will be offered by Marshall University Technology Transfer Office, according to a news release.
It is set for 10 a.m.-noon Friday, Aug. 10.
The program will begin with an overview of the main areas of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark and copyright, the release said.
It will also focus on patent protection in health care and life sciences.
The seminar will be led by attorney Terry Wright.
Wright has a background in life sciences and experience with academic research in the areas of cardiovascular biology, molecular and cellular biology, pharmacology and biotechnology. He counsels companies and university technology transfer/licensing offices regarding strategies for protecting patent‐based intellectual property.
