This weekend in Baltimore Maryland a local girl made good at the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics. 13 Year old Carly Hinkle of Scott Depot set a personal best in the High Jump with a leap of five feet, Five inches. That was good for second place and a silver medal. Carly told me that when it came down to jumping, she was excited and nervous at the same time. "A little bit of both, I was nervous and happy to be there." said Carly, "I was surprised to jump 5' 5", that was the best I've ever done."
Her family was on hand for Carly's big day, "very proud of her, Tara and I are very proud of her." said her father Ron, "she's put a lot of hard work into it. She works out with a coach named Marshall Murray with the Capital City Striders and he's done a great job with her and we're just very proud of all her accomplishments"
For finishing in the top eight, Carly was named an All American.
