Severe weather moved through the region on Thursday evening. Strong winds, heavy rain and hail created problems for drivers and communities in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.

The complex of thunderstorms started in the upper Midwest earlier in the day and then moved east. The worst damage was reported in southeast Ohio and the northern sections of the 13News viewing area, along the U.S. Route 33 corridor.

"The focus at the point shifts to the potential for heavy rainfall and flooding. We're encouraging people to be careful if they have to be out on the roads. Standing water and street flooding are the main concern," said Chief Stormtracker 13 Meteorologist Spencer Adkins.

A check of regional emergency centers didn't reveal any widespread damage. There were pockets of problems though with some trees and branches blown down as the storms moved through.
