Conference offers free events in Charleston this weekend

The Southern Legislative Conference is offering some fun events for the public this weekend.

According to a news release from the West Virginia House of Delegates, after a reception for conference attendees at the state Capitol on Saturday, a fireworks show open to the public will take place on the south side of the Capitol.

The display will begin about 9:30 p.m. on Kanawha Boulevard, which will be closed to traffic during that time.

On Sunday, the Davisson Brothers will perform at Haddad Riverfront Park at 8 p.m. concert is free and open to the public. Vendors will be selling food and drinks. The section of Kanawha Boulevard along Haddad Park will be closed to traffic during that concert, which is scheduled to end at 10 p.m.
