The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet highway wishes to warn motorists of possible delays and one-lane work zones in Greenup and Boyd counties along US 23, according to a press release.

On July 30, contractors will pave US 23 in Greenup county from KY 410 to the Little Sandy River bridges located in Greenup. The four-lane highway will be reduced to one lane during construction. The road work will begin at 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will run through Aug. 3.

Scheduled paving in Boyd County will begin on Aug. 6 on US 23 between downtown Ashland and the Greenup county line. The road work will happen at night starting at 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane and will take place on the Winchester-Greenup Avenue split past Hoods Creek Pike to the county line.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is letting motorists know to expect possible delays, watch for flaggers, slow down in work zones, and be aware of construction equipment.
