Now in its eighth year, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is promoting water safety at an annual event.
The eighth annual Safety on the Blue event kicks of on Bluestone Lake in Hinton from noon to 5 p.m., starting Saturday, Aug. 5.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers use the free event to teach families about water safety, plus have a good time.
According to a press release, there are games, prizes, life jacket giveaways. Bobber the Water Safety Dog and Corey the Water Safety Boat will also be on hand for the kids.
