UPDATE-Name of 3rd Lawrence County, OH, crash victim released

Ohio State Highway Patrol have released the name of a third victim involved in a fatal crash in Lawrence county Sunday evening.

They say Marian Jury, 44, of Huntington died in the wreck that took the lives of two others.

Greg E. Fortner, 52, of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Jami S. Wood, 51, of Huntington, were also killed.

Police say their car left the road on Big Paddy Creek and went over a 150 foot embankment.

The accident is under investigation.

 


 

Three people were killed in a single-car crash in Lawrence County, Ohio.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the accident happened just before 8 p.m. Sunday.

Two of the victim's names have been released. Greg E. Fortner, 52, of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Jami S. Wood, 51, of Huntington, were killed in the wreck, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The third victim's name has not been released pending notification of family.

First responders on scene said the car dropped about 150 feet from the roadway down an embankment.

The accident happened on County Road 12 near Rome Township. The road is also known as Big Paddy Creek Road.

"When you go out into the country as people call it, the roads are very curvy. You need to obey all speed limits and pay close attention," said Tate Tooley, of the Rome Volunteer Fire Department.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol did an accident reconstruction to try to determine the cause of the wreck.
